Based on the local need for physical rehabilitation services along with short term stay, a programming study was completed to determine the appropriate case mix to meet the market demand. The program identified that 19 existing semi-private rooms could be converted to private rooms which would allow for the creation of a new 19 unit wing short-term stay wing, without the needs to increase the total number of bed licenses.
Additionally a 2,800 square foot advanced physical and occupational therapy space was created as well as a therapeutic outdoor courtyard. Other areas included small and large group activity space, dining and resident use kitchen areas, as well as resident focused nursing stations.
