Family Medicine and Mammography – Pickerington

As The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) continues to expand their vast network and bring the highest quality healthcare to the community, they opened a new facility for Family Medicine and Mammography in Pickerington, Ohio.

Although the university had limited space to work with, Andrews Architects Inc. was able to help them get everything they needed into the existing space through thoughtful and meticulous space planning. This project consisted of three separate clinics. The Family Medicine Clinic which consists of 17 Exams, Point of Care Lab, Physician Offices, Consult Rooms and support spaces. In addition, there is a Mammography Clinic with a Mammograph Room, Ultrasound, Reading Room, Work Area, and an Optometry area with three Exam Rooms, Testing Room and Eye Ware Gallery.

A key aspect of this facility is the clear separation between each clinic. While they are divided, the space is easily navigable for patients and staff to go from one clinic to another through connecting corridors. In the Family Medicine area, the corridors are located on the exterior walls which bring natural light into the circulation, physician, and nurse work area.

Even though there is a lot packed into this 10,800 sf space, Andrews Architects was able to make the place feel open and spacious though the use of natural light and soft warm tone finishes from the OSUWMC brand standards giving clients an inviting and comfortable atmosphere.
