Hospital systems evolve the services they offer as the population ages. To meet the community needs, Wayne Hospital opened a short-term inpatient senior behavioral health program. The hospital converted an existing inpatient bed unit for the behavioral health program.

The configuration and finishes of all the patient rooms and patient toilet rooms were designed to meet all the required behavioral health and Ohio Department of Health code and standards. This required either the modification or upgrading the plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.

The unit consists of (5) two patient rooms, (2) single patient rooms, seclusion room, dining area, activity area, administrative space, and other support items.
