Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians, Inc. (COPC) turned to Andrews Architects Inc. to complete the interior architectural design for their multi-tenant facility in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Andrews Architects was challenged with fitting twelve separate user groups into the 60,000 sf space on three floors. These COPC spaces include Sport, Spine & Joint, Stonegate Family Health, Reynoldsburg Family Medicine, Canyon Medical Center, Suburban Internal Medicine, Eastglen Pediatrics, and Building Blocks Pediatrics, as well as ancillary spaces (blood draw, same day center, imaging, physical therapy, and a time share) with a shared reception and staff areas.
All of these spaces required careful planning in regard to the patients, staff, and equipment. We worked closely with the leadership teams, staff, and equipment suppliers to design the spaces.
We, Andrews Architects, with board certified healthcare architects (ACHA) on staff, were able to easily work through the design conversations since all parties were able to talk the same talk and understand the importance of circulation, equipment, and technological needs for their spaces. We were able to bring together the tenant spaces with one cohesive feel, even though each practice had different aesthetic visions and unique needs. While incorporating their individual personalities in a timeless, contemporary design, the patient flow was at the forefront of everyone’s minds throughout the design process. The use of natural light was prioritized for the staff spaces for a welcoming respite from the patient zones. The custom cabinetry throughout allowed the staff to be efficient, connect with their patients, and keep items out of children’s eyesight and hands.
